Why girls-only

Something shifts when the space is just for them

Girls learn differently when they're not performing for anyone. They ask the questions they'd normally swallow. They try things they'd normally talk themselves out of. They cheer for each other without a second thought.

Confidence that sticks

Every drill, every drop, every time she pushes through something hard — she's building a relationship with her own capability. That's the real work. The outdoors is just the vehicle.

Belonging from day one

We build culture intentionally. From the first morning to the last high-five, every girl knows she's meant to be here — exactly as she is, exactly where she's at.

Coached by women who get it

Our coaches aren't just technically skilled — they understand the emotional landscape of being a girl learning something new. That awareness changes everything.

A community that outlasts camp

The friendships formed in a girls-only space are different. There's a shared language that goes home with them — and often, a lifelong love of being outdoors.

"
We've been building girls-only programs for nearly a decade. We've watched quiet girls become leaders, and unsure riders become people who trust themselves on and off the bike.

Our approach

Built on nearly a decade of doing this well

Adventuring Into Life has been running girls-only programs across Western Canada for years. We've refined what works: skilled female coaches, intentional culture-building, and experiences that ask a little more than girls think they can give.

Every day is designed to balance challenge and celebration — because the goal isn't just to have fun, it's to go home feeling like someone different.

What to expect

Four days of real adventure in the East Kootenay

Mountain biking is the heartbeat of camp. Around that, we build a program that stretches girls in every direction — on the water, in the forest, on the rock, and in the quiet moments between.

The East Kootenay is an extraordinary backyard for this kind of camp. We're working with local partners to shape a program worthy of it. Full activity details coming soon.

About Adventuring Into Life

Nearly a decade of getting girls outside

Adventuring Into Life started in Grande Prairie, Alberta and has grown into one of Western Canada's most trusted youth outdoor programs — with roots across BC and Alberta and thousands of young people through our programs each year.

We've been running girls-only camps and programs long enough to know what works: skilled coaches, intentional community, and experiences that ask more of girls than they thought they could give.

We're thrilled to be bringing that to Cranbrook and the East Kootenay for the first time.

What we bring to every camp

Certified, experienced female coaches and counsellors

Intentional programming built around confidence and belonging

Skills-based progression that meets every girl where she is

A culture of encouragement, not competition

All skill levels welcome — no experience needed

Where we'll be

Home base in the heart of Cranbrook

Girls Adventure Camp Cranbrook will be based out of the College of the Rockies campus — a central, well-equipped home base in the heart of Cranbrook, BC. From there, we head out each day into the wider Cranbrook area to explore everything the East Kootenay has to offer.

Whether we're on the trails of the Cranbrook Community Forest, at the climbing gym, out on the water, or deep in the woods, every day is rooted in this extraordinary corner of British Columbia.

Got questions?

Everything you need to know

What age is Girls Adventure Camp Cranbrook for?

Camp is designed for girls ages 8–13. We group participants by age and ability so every girl is challenged at the right level — whether she's brand new to the outdoors or already an experienced rider.

Does my daughter need mountain biking experience?

Not at all. Girls Adventure Camp is designed to welcome all skill levels, from first-time riders to girls who've been on trails before. Our coaches are experienced at meeting every rider exactly where she's at and building from there.

Where exactly is camp located in Cranbrook, BC?

Camp is based out of the College of the Rockies campus in Cranbrook, BC. Each day we head out into the broader Cranbrook area — including the Cranbrook Community Forest trail network and other East Kootenay locations — depending on the day's activities.

Is this a day camp or overnight camp?

Girls Adventure Camp Cranbrook is a day camp running 9:00am to 3:30pm each day, August 18–21, 2026. Girls are dropped off and picked up daily — no overnight stay required.

What makes this a girls-only camp?

Research consistently shows that girls thrive in single-gender learning environments — they take more risks, ask more questions, and support each other more freely. We've seen it firsthand across our programs for nearly a decade. Every coach, counsellor, and facilitator at camp is female, and the entire program is designed with girls' development in mind.

What do girls need to bring to camp?

Girls should come dressed and packed for an active day outdoors. Every day is a little different, so layers are key — BC weather can shift quickly. Here's the general list to start with: a backpack, water bottle, packed lunch and snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and closed-toe shoes. Depending on the day's activities, there may be additional gear needed — a full packing list will be sent to all registered families ahead of camp so no one shows up unprepared.
