Why girls-only

Something shifts when the space is just for them

Girls learn differently when they're not performing for anyone. They ask the questions they'd normally swallow. They try things they'd normally talk themselves out of. They cheer for each other without a second thought.

Confidence that sticks

Every new activity, every moment she pushes through something hard - she's building a relationship with her own capability. That's the real work. The outdoors is just the vehicle.

Belonging from day one

We build culture intentionally. From the first morning to the last high-five, every girl knows she's meant to be here - exactly as she is, exactly where she's at.

Coached by women who get it

Our coaches aren't just technically skilled - they understand the emotional side of being a girl learning something new. The patience, the encouragement, the knowing when to push and when to back off. That makes the experience completely different.

A community that outlasts camp

The friendships formed in a girls-only space are different. There's a shared language that goes home with them - and often, a lifelong love of being outdoors.

"
We've been building girls-only programs for nearly a decade. We've watched quiet girls become leaders, and unsure riders become people who trust themselves on and off the bike.

Our approach

Built on nearly a decade of doing this well

Adventuring Into Life has been running girls-only programs across Western Canada for years. We've refined what works: skilled female coaches, intentional culture-building, and experiences that ask a little more than girls think they can give.

Every day is designed to balance challenge and celebration - because the goal isn't just to have fun, it's to go home feeling like someone different.

What to expect

Four days of real adventure in Cranbrook

Mountain biking is the heartbeat of camp - we'll be riding the trails of the Cranbrook Community Forest and the Bike Skills Park each day. Around that, we build a program that stretches girls in all directions.

Confirmed activities include hiking and bushcraft skills in the Community Forest, a herbalism walk with a local guide, fishing at Idlewild Park's stocked pond, and disc golf right on the COTR campus. We'll also make time for an ice cream stop at Elizabeth Lake Lodge because camp wouldn't be camp without it.

More activities are being confirmed with local partners and the schedule will be updated as details are locked in.

🚲 Bike requirement: Girls must be able to ride a two-wheeled bike independently to participate. No mountain bike experience needed - just the basics.

About Adventuring Into Life

Nearly a decade of getting girls outside

Adventuring Into Life started in Grande Prairie, Alberta and has grown into one of Western Canada's most trusted youth outdoor programs - with roots across BC and Alberta and thousands of young people through our programs each year.

We've been running girls-only camps and programs long enough to know what works: skilled coaches, intentional community, and experiences that ask more of girls than they thought they could give.

We're thrilled to be bringing that to Cranbrook for the first time.

Got questions?

Everything you need to know

What age is Girls Adventure Camp Cranbrook for?

Camp is designed for girls ages 9–13. Whether she's brand new to the outdoors or already has some experience, she belongs here.

Does my daughter need mountain biking experience?

She needs to be able to ride a two-wheeled bike independently - but beyond that, no experience is needed. We welcome riders from complete beginners to girls who've been on trails before. Our coaches are experienced at meeting every rider where she's at and building from there.

Where exactly is camp located in Cranbrook, BC?

Camp is based out of the College of the Rockies campus in Cranbrook. Each day we head out into the broader Cranbrook area - including the Cranbrook Community Forest trail network and other local spots - depending on the day's activities. Drop-off and pick-up locations may vary by day and will be communicated to families in advance.

Is this a day camp or overnight camp?

Girls Adventure Camp Cranbrook is a day camp running 9:00am to 3:30pm each day, August 18–21, 2026. Girls are dropped off and picked up daily - no overnight stay required.

What makes this a girls-only camp?

Research consistently shows that girls thrive in single-gender learning environments - they take more risks, ask more questions, and support each other more freely. We've seen it firsthand across our programs for nearly a decade. Every coach, counsellor, and facilitator at camp is female, and the entire program is designed with girls' development in mind.

What do girls need to bring to camp?

Girls should come dressed and packed for an active day outdoors. Every day is a little different, so layers are key - BC weather can shift quickly. Here's the general list to start with: a backpack, water bottle, packed lunch and snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and closed-toe shoes. Depending on the day's activities, there may be additional gear needed - a full packing list will be sent to all registered families ahead of camp so no one shows up unprepared.

How do I register for Girls Adventure Camp Cranbrook?

Registration is open now! Head to the registration form using the button at the bottom of this page to secure your daughter's spot. Spots are limited to 12 girls and we already have families signed up, so don't wait too long.

How much does camp cost and what's included?

Camp registration is $350 per girl. This covers all four days of programming and any required activity gear. Bikes are not included - girls need to bring their own bike. Food is also not included - girls need to bring a packed lunch and snacks each day. A full packing list will be sent to all registered families ahead of camp.
