Who This Is For
She's in her 40s or 50s. A mom, a business owner, someone who's been quietly holding everything together for so long she's stopped asking what she actually wants.
She's capable of so much. She's also exhausted by all of it. Somewhere along the way, the version of herself that craved adventure got carefully, quietly set aside.
She keeps saying someday. She means it. She just never goes.
Wild & Slow is built for her. For you.
What Changes
What You Leave Behind
The mental load. The schedule. The low hum of what still needs doing and who still needs you. The identity that has slowly, quietly swallowed you whole. You set it down at the airport and you don't pick it back up until you decide to.
What You Discover
That you are still that woman. Capable of hard things, new things, uncomfortable things. That your body is strong and your spirit is hungry and you don't need anyone's permission to take up space. That showing up for yourself feels exactly like you imagined it would.
What You Come Home With
A full heart. A clearer sense of yourself. A group of women who truly get it. And the knowledge that you went. That when the moment came, you said yes to yourself. That changes something. It stays with you.
Your Guide
Andrea has spent her career building spaces where women discover what they're capable of in nature. As a lifelong athlete, outdoor coach, and co-founder of Adventuring Into Life, she has seen what happens when you take a woman out of her daily life and put her somewhere wild and beautiful.
She remembers herself.
Wild & Slow is built from that knowing. It's not another travel package. It's an experience held by someone who has done this work and who understands, deeply, what's at stake when a woman finally says yes to herself.
The Experience
Each day is full but never overwhelming. Real culture, real nature, real connection, with enough breathing room to actually feel it all. Activities are mild to moderate. No extreme fitness required. Just willingness.
Activities are the vehicle. Connection and rediscovery are the destination.
"I was pleasantly shocked — I could never have imagined the trip I was about to embark on. I didn't have to worry about money, food, accommodation, activities, transportation, or safety. I'm so grateful to have experienced this all-encompassing retreat."— Michelle P., past retreat guest
The details are coming together. Spots will open to waitlist members first, before anything goes public. If you've been thinking about doing something just for yourself, this is the moment to get your name in.

The practical stuff. The "but what about" stuff. The things that are keeping you from just doing this. Let's go through them.
Once you arrive in Costa Rica, everything is taken care of. All accommodation, all meals, all activities, all ground transportation between venues and experiences, and all the logistics of making the week work — that's ours to manage. You just show up.
The only thing you arrange yourself is your international flight to Costa Rica. We'll give you arrival and departure details once your spot is confirmed so you know exactly what to book. That's it. One flight. Everything else is handled.
No. Wild & Slow is designed for women who are reasonably active in their daily lives, but there's no fitness test and no specific level required. Activities are mild to moderate — think jungle hikes, river experiences, cycling on flat terrain, and cultural outings. Nothing extreme. Nothing that requires training or preparation beyond being generally mobile and willing.
If you walk regularly, do some kind of movement a few times a week, and can handle a few hours of light activity in a day, you will do absolutely fine. If you have specific health considerations, reach out before joining the waitlist and we'll give you an honest answer.
It's not just okay — it might be the best thing about it. Most women who come to Wild & Slow come alone. By day two, it won't feel that way. The retreat is intentionally small (twelve women) and intentionally structured to create real connection, not just proximity. Shared experience in a beautiful place has a way of collapsing the distance between strangers very quickly.
Coming without a friend also means you arrive fully open — no one to default to, no existing dynamic to maintain. That openness is part of what makes the week transformative for so many women.
Because this particular season of life has a specific texture that women in it recognize immediately in each other. The particular kind of exhaustion that comes with decades of being needed. The quiet question of what's next. The way adventure can feel both deeply appealing and somehow not quite permitted.
Women in their 40s and 50s tend to show up for this retreat in a particular way — with a depth of self-awareness and a readiness to actually receive the experience rather than just check it off. The age range creates a room full of women who largely get each other without a lot of explanation required. That matters more than it sounds.
If you're a bit outside that range and the retreat speaks to you, reach out. We'll have an honest conversation.
Days are full but not frantic. A morning activity — a guided jungle hike, a biking tour through the Turrialba valley, a rafting run on one of Costa Rica's best rivers. A proper lunch. An afternoon experience — a canyoning adventure, a coffee farm tour, a cultural outing, time to just be somewhere beautiful. Dinner together. Space to breathe.
No 5am wake-ups. No packed itineraries with no room to actually feel anything. The pace is deliberately generous because the point isn't to see as much as possible — it's to actually be somewhere. Turrialba is extraordinary, and the retreat is built to let you experience it rather than just pass through it.
It's neither, and both — depending on how you approach it. Wild & Slow is fundamentally an adventure retreat. The days are built around doing things: hiking, paddling, exploring, experiencing Costa Rica's culture and landscape. That's the core of it.
There's intentional space woven through the week for reflection and connection — conversations that go somewhere real, moments that invite you to slow down and actually notice what you're feeling. But there's no yoga curriculum, no spiritual framework, no requirement to engage with anything in a particular way. You bring yourself. The week does the rest.
Yes — and this one matters to us specifically. If you're the kind of person who reads labels at home and is careful about what goes into your body, you'll appreciate this: meals at Wild & Slow are built around fresh, whole ingredients, organic where possible, and seed-oil free. No canola, no vegetable oil, no industrially processed food. Real food cooked from real ingredients in a part of the world where incredible produce grows in the backyard.
Costa Rica has extraordinary local food — fresh tropical fruit, clean proteins, vegetables that taste like they're supposed to. You'll eat well in a way that actually makes you feel good, not depleted. After a week of active days, that matters more than most people expect it to. All meals are included in the retreat price.
The retreat is based at Lumira Centre in Turrialba — a beautiful, intimate retreat property surrounded by jungle and Costa Rican landscape. Comfortable, well-appointed rooms, great food, and the kind of setting that makes you feel very far from your regular life from the moment you arrive. Full details on the property will be shared with waitlist members when registration opens.
Yes — travel insurance including emergency medical coverage and trip cancellation protection is required for all participants. This is non-negotiable and for good reason: you're travelling internationally and doing active things in a remote-ish location. We take the safety and wellbeing of every woman on this retreat seriously, and travel insurance is part of that. We'll provide guidance on what coverage is appropriate when you confirm your spot.
Full pricing details will be shared with waitlist members when registration opens. The retreat is all-inclusive once you arrive — accommodation, all meals, all activities, and all ground transportation are covered in the retreat price. Your international flights are separate.
A deposit will be required to hold your spot, with the balance due closer to the departure date. Exact amounts and a payment schedule will be outlined clearly when registration opens. Joining the waitlist carries no financial commitment.
The full cancellation policy will be shared when registration opens and will be clearly outlined in your booking confirmation. Generally, cancellations made well in advance of the departure date may be eligible for a partial or full refund of your deposit. Cancellations closer to the date will depend on whether your spot can be filled. This is exactly why travel insurance matters — it protects you if life happens between booking and January.
It means your name is on a list. That's all. No payment, no commitment, no obligation. When registration opens — which happens to waitlist members before the general public — you'll get an email with the full details, pricing, and a link to secure your spot if you want it. You can decide then. Joining the waitlist just makes sure you don't miss the moment when it matters.
You've Said Someday Long Enough
No commitment. No pressure. Just your name on a list that means when the details are ready, you hear about it first. You can decide everything else then.
