Adventuring Into Life asks that everyone who participates in our programs to follow this code of ethics:
Respect Others:
No put downs! Everyone has different abilities and reasons for riding and all should be respected.
All bikes are cool. Not everyone can afford the latest and greatest. What's important is to be out there riding!
Celebrate others' successes. Encourage new riders to get involved.
No swearing, being inappropriate, or creating an uncomfortable environment for others.
Know Your Own Abilities:
Ride within abilities.
If you are more skilled, pass it on in a friendly way.
Help teach younger riders.
Practice Safe Riding:
Always wear a helmet.
Always ride with a buddy.
Learn how to keep your bike in working order-carry a repair tool kit.
When you go riding, tell someone where you're going and when you'll be back.
Wear clothes that suit the weather and any safety equipment you need to ride safely.
Be prepared! Carry water and food
What happens if a participant doesn’t follow the above?
Our programs are designed to be a safe, fun space for everyone who is there. If a participant is unable to follow the above “code of ethics” they will have three chances.
First time is a warning and parents will be talked to at the end of the session.
Second time's a phone call and request for pick up.
Third time the participant will be asked not to attend the remaining sessions.
Our coaches work very hard to ensure all participants are engaged in a positive way and can usually get participants back on track. The above is unlikely to happen, but we want to make it very clear before programs start.

Your child's safety is important to us, we require that all children be signed in and out by a parent or caregiver and that you speak to your child's instructor each day.
Sign-In
Please arrive 5-10 minutes earlier than when your camp is supposed to begin, especially on your first day. This is to ensure that you have a smooth check in and camp can begin on time.
On the first day we ask that yon stay for the first 10 minutes of camp while the instructor goes over camp expectations
The remaining days, we ask that you please try not to linger. We understand that you want to make sure your child is settling in but we want to make sure their attention is on their instructor.
Sign-Out
We kindly ask that you arrive right at the pick-up time to ensure a smooth check-out.
Notify your instructor if someone other than yourself will be picking up your child.
This is also a great opportunity to discuss your child's goals or ask questions about daily activities for the class.

Helmet safety plays an important part of a fun and safe experience.
As your child's safety is our number-one priority at camp, our helmet check procedure is in place to ensure that your child's head is well protected.
Helmet checks are done on the first day of all programs, led by your child's instructor. However, our Sign-In Staff Members will take a quick look while you are still there to check if the helmet is inappropriate (helmet used for another sport or visible damage).
Your child's instructor will do a test to check the safety and fit of your child's helmet, making sure it's the right size and is adjusted properly. If a helmet cannot be fitted appropriately for camp, a staff member will speak to you at the end of the day.
For more information on helmet safety, please refer to our Helmet check article.

Bike specifications vary depending on your child's skill level. For all bikes, they should be structurally sound with no broken parts or cables that may impair safety. Check the brakes and the steering of your child's bike before coming to camp. Special tips for shopping for beginners:
Do not buy a bike they will "grow into".
While sitting on the seat, feet should be flat on the ground. If the seat has been lowered completely, and the child is not flat-footed while seated, the bike is likely too big, and we recommend sizing down. This is especially important in brand new riders
There should be a slight bend at their elbows when holding the handlebars.
Bike must hae hand brakes for al Adventuring Into Life program
Bike Size
Children's bikes are sized according to the diameter of the wheel. Your decision to buy a 10-, 12-, 14-, 16-, 18-, or 20-inch wheel depends on how your child looks and feels when they are sitting on their bike.
-
Our instructors use games, obstacle courses and positive encouragement to help develop kids' skills and confidence on their bikes.
During the week, children spend time both on and off their bikes which helps keep them energized and engaged. Our program helps kids gain confidence, teach them the importance of safety skills, and ensure they have fun at camp! Each day, campers take bathroom, snack and water breaks when needed.
Kids also spend the week preparing for their last day talent show
The last day of camp, your child can participate in our talent show. Where you are invited to arrive early and see the skills your child has learnt during their camp.

All-day campers ride throughout the day. They also enjoy age-appropriate games and crafts during their breaks.
Younger kids will have plenty of variety in their activities to keep them energized throughout the day. Older and more experienced riders participate in several challenging and exciting off-site rides.
After their morning riding portion or activity, children rest during their lunch break. Adventuring Into Life does not provide lunch services; please be sure to pack a healthy, nut-free lunch for your child so that they can maintain their energy. Because we are an active camp, we suggest packing more than usual. Instructors wil help re-apply sunscreen and prepare for the afternoon biking session over lunch.
