Camper Policies

  • All outdoor camps and lessons run rain or shine; therefore, we do not refund or credit for classes missed by choice due to weather. All children should come to camp with weather appropriate clothing and related gear.

If extreme weather jeopardizes the safety of children or employees in any way, the programs may hold off on specific activities and alter our programming, until conditions have subsided. This may include spending periods of time indoors. Adventuring Into Life’s goal is to always operate in some capacity, as we understand the difficulty of finding alternative last-minute childcare options.

The decision to cancel any programs due to potentially hazardous weather will be made in consultation with local weather forecasts or advisories. In the event of any cancellations due to inclement weather, every effort will be made by Adventuring Into Life to contact all clients affected, via email, or phone.

    SMOKE & AIR QUALITY

Air quality issues have become an increasing concern for all of us. Unfortunately, we cannot know for certain when and how changing air quality will impact our camp operations. We will operate camps as scheduled to help parents avoid rearranging their obligations. We may limit activities based on conditions, but we will continue to provide care for your child. We review air quality conditions on a regular basis and adjust camp activities as needed.

  • All cancelation requests must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the camp/lesson start date. Refunds are subject to a $25 cancelation/administration fee per registration. Credits on account will be for the full value of the camp/lessons.

Cancelation requests less than 2 weeks from camp/lesson start date are not eligible for credit or refund.

Credit expire two years from date of issue. This credit can be used by any family member towards any of our programs offered. Once a credit is issued, it cannot be converted to a refund.

We recognize that extenuating circumstances exist. For cancellations due to medical illnesses, or for any other compassionate reason, please apply in writing to the office (no more than 7 days after the end of the program) for a potential credit. If reason is medical or illness, please include official documentation. There are no credits or refunds for missed days due to changed work or vacation schedules, sick days, or other non-emergency reasons.

  • All camp/lesson schedule change requests must be submitted at least 14 days prior to the camp start date.

If a parent/caregiver would like to make any changes to their registration, they can email info@adventuringintolife.ca

Switching to another time within the season is always free of charge for similarly priced classes but is based on space availability and cannot be guaranteed. If there is a discrepancy in the class cost, the difference is to be paid by customer if money due (or credited to customer if money owed).

  • Parents/caregivers must remain on-site with their child until the start of class and the instructor is ready to do check in.

Children cannot be dropped off early unless they have been pre-registered into our Before Care program, as our staff will not be able to properly supervise the child while they do set up or other various pre-camp duties.

If a parent/caregiver is running late for pick-up, they should attempt to contact the site directly.

If you require extended care hours, please ask about our After Care program.

    BEFORE AND AFTER CARE

There is no biking during before and after care. Participants will do arts and crafts, play games, do chalk drawing, and other quiet activities during this time.

Please note that before and after care are not offered for preschool classes, or private lessons

    CAMPER SIGN-OUT POLICY

To keep our campers safe, anyone under the age of 10 at camp start may only be signed out by an authorized caregiver (16+ years old)

Parents/caregivers wishing to give their child (10+ years old) permission to walk or bike home on their own are required to provide written approval, signed by their parent/caregiver, releasing Adventuring Into Life of all liability and responsibility once the child leaves camp. This must be delivered to the lead coach on the first day.

    LATE PICK-UP POLICY

We understand that sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan. Campers picked up later than 15 minutes after the end of their registered camp or care are tracked and can expect the following:

First Late: A reminder from the Site Manager/Lesson Supervisor about program end times.

Second Late: A reminder from Customer Care about program end times and additional care charges may apply.

Third Late: Parents will be charged for additional care (including for the previous times).

    CAMPER ABSENCES

If your child will be absent from camp, please inform the camp as soon as possible. email your child’s name, and the date(s) your child will be absent. Refunds or credits will not be given for scheduling and vacation conflicts. For compassionate reasons, please reach out to Customer Care via email info@adventuringintolife.ca

  • We recommend that children do not bring valuables with them to camp, and that every parent at the end of each day take a moment to ensure that all their child's items go home with them. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen property; however, we do maintain a 'Lost & Found' bin at each camp. You may return email at anytime during the summer to check the ‘Lost & Found’ bin for your missing item(s). At the end of the summer, the lost and found is taken to the nearest charity and the items inside donated.

  • Our philosophy and practices are that children learn best with positive role modelling and encouragement, effective feedback, and practice in an environment that is fun, caring, and welcoming. Adventuring Into Life believes that positive affirmation and simple redirection are effective methods for teaching and behavior management of children.

To maintain the safety and fun of our camps, we expect only respectful and non-threatening behaviour from all participants. In severe cases, such as a participant intentionally harming others, vandalizing property, or displaying other extreme and unacceptable behaviour(s), we may dismiss them from the program.

    Unacceptable Behaviours:

    • Endangering the health or safety of children and staff.

    • Physical or verbal abuse towards anyone.

    • Habitual use of profanity, obscenity, or racially directed comments.

    • Theft or damage of private property.

    • Inappropriate sexual comments or verbal harassment.

    • Possession of any weapons or weapon play.
